CLEANING & FREEZING WILD BLUEBERRIES

Within hours of being harvested, the wild blueberries are delivered to our freezing facility where they are cleaned and frozen to preserve their remarkable flavor and quality.

When the wild blueberries are received in our plant, the traceability of our product begins by accurately maintaining receiving records. We have the ability to track and trace our product from the field to our customer.

The cleaning/washing process begins. The state of the art equipment removes the miscellaneous field debris along the process. The blueberries are washed and air dried prior to entering one of our three IQF tunnels. ( IQF = Individual Quick Frozen). Once frozen, the blueberries are caught in large totes, and are taken directly to our cold storage facility for storage until they are packed for our customer.

Packing the Wild IQF Blueberries:

Once the harvest is complete, we begin to package our wild blueberries.

During this process, the blueberries pass through the de-stemmer, and a laser sorter to insure excellent quality for our customer. The blueberries pass along a conveyor for visual inspection by our line inspectors. Once the blueberries pass by the line inspectors, our quality control technician retrieves samples and monitors the blueberries for quality as well as grade.

The blueberries are packed in 30 pound poly-lined cardboard cartons. Each carton is passed through a metal detector prior to stacking the finished product pallet
